Job Title: Imaging Systems Manager/Forensic Imaging Specialist

Employer: United States Justice Department Regime Crimes Liaison Office, Mass Graves Investigation Team, US Embassy, Baghdad, Iraq

Principle Duties: Developed, implemented, and controlled a complete forensic imaging system utilized to manage and secure the visual documentation of evidence collected during mass graves investigations in Iraq. Coordinate with all of the specialized units to provide the necessary imaging support required to document the exhumation and analysis of skeletal remains and artifacts. Provided individual and group training to members of the Mass Graves Investigation Team, and members of the Iraqi Special Tribunal on procedures and protocols’ required for the use of digital imaging in criminal investigations. Supervised the entire imaging system and employees tasked to utilize it. Performed image enhancement processing on copies of original documents recovered with the remains to assist in identifying the victims. Captured reconnaissance images in the field, and provide images to the command staff for briefings and analysis. Provided Archaeologist, Anthropologist, Radiologist, and Pathologist immediate viewing of detailed forensic images captured to assist in their analysis and findings. Provided copies of evidentiary images for use in case reports to the Iraqi Special Tribunal prosecutors, for trials of genocide, crimes against humanity and war crimes.

Employer: Broward County Sheriff’s Office, Crime Scene Unit

Principle Duties: Managed and operated the forensic digital imaging system and all of its components. Performed and documented computer enhancements to digitally captured images. Provided training to individuals that are responsible for the acquiring of images into the database utilizing either the Digital Capture Station, or the Digital Field Kit. Developed, maintained, and updated all procedures used by the digital imaging system. Responded to crime scenes to perform digital image capture of latent evidence.

 Principle Duties: Managed and operated a full service forensic photo lab. Managed and operated the forensic digital imaging system and field response team. Performed individual and group training on various aspects of forensic photography and digital imaging. Utilizing the digital imaging system, enhanced and documented images of poor or low quality in order to show more detail.
